She was the animation director of the recently Oscar-nominated French animation feature film <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skwigly.co.uk\/courgette-review\/\"><em>My Life as a Courgette<\/em><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sculpt-double.co.uk\/\">Joshua Flynn<\/a> (Sculptor\/Fabricator)<br \/>\n<\/strong>Joshua is a sculptor and puppet fabricator specialising in the stop-motion industry for feature films and commercials.<br \/>\nOriginally from Cardiff, Josh studied BA Animation at the University of Glamorgan (now the University of South Wales). After graduating in 2011, he has worked on a number of productions across the UK including Tim Burton&#8217;s <em>Frankenweenie<\/em>, <em>Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires<\/em>, Wes Anderson&#8217;s <em>The Grand Budapest Hotel<\/em> and his most recent film, <em>Isle of Dogs<\/em>.<br \/>\nTogether with his brother Nathan, the two of them make up SculptDouble, creating sculptures, maquettes and animations.<\/li>\n<li class=\"font_7\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/kerrydyer.bigcartel.com\/\">Kerry Dyer<\/a> (Head Of Department\u00a0&#8211; Puppet Hospital)<br \/>\n<\/strong>Kerry has over 10 years experience working in Stop Motion animation, for both TV and Film. Including:\u00a0<em>Ooglies<\/em>, <em>Fantastic Mr Fox<\/em>, <em>The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists<\/em>, <em>Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires<\/em> and <em>Isle Of Dogs<\/em>.<br \/>\nShe began her career as an animator, before finding she enjoyed the mechanics of armatures and the feel of clay between her fingers. She recently ran a team of ten, stitching together and generally repairing the inhabitants of Trash Island for <em>Isle of Dogs<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skwigly Features Writer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skwigly.co.uk\/author\/laura-cowley\/\">Laura-Beth Cowley<\/a> also brings us an exclusive chat with Key Animator <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/timanimation\">Tim Allen<\/a>, whose stop-motion career began with Tim Burton&#8217;s <em>The Corpse Bride<\/em> and has gone on to include TV series such as <em>Fifi and the Flower Tots<\/em> and <em>Shaun the Sheep<\/em> with features including <em>Fantastic Mr Fox,<\/em> <em>Frankenweenie<\/em>, <em>Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires<\/em> and <em>Isle of Dogs<\/em>. As an independent director he has produced six multi-award-winning short animated films that have been showcased at over 200 international film and animation festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, BFI London Film Festival, ITFS Stuttgart, Encounters, London International Animation Festival, Pictoplasma, London Short Film Festival and Anima Mundi. Alongside his work in animation production he is an active writer and researcher on the industry through such avenues as the leading UK animation resource Skwigly, for which he is Editor in Chief, and his books 'Independent Animation: Developing, Producing and Distributing Your Animated Films' (2016, second edition published April 2023) and 'Intimate Animation' (2025, co-written with Dr. Laura-Beth Cowley). As an educator he has lectured and tutored at AUB Bournemouth, University of the West of England, University of Gloucestershire and UAL Central Saint Martins. As a freelancer he has produced work for WildBrain, CBeebies, Channel 4, Shy Guys, Plymptoons, Animortal, Wonky Films, A Productions, Slurpy Studios and Rumpus to name a few. As an independent director he has produced six multi-award-winning short animated films that have been showcased at over 200 international film and animation festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, BFI London Film Festival, ITFS Stuttgart, Encounters, London International Animation Festival, Pictoplasma, London Short Film Festival and Anima Mundi. Alongside his work in animation production he is an active writer and researcher on the industry through such avenues as the leading UK animation resource Skwigly, for which he is Editor in Chief, and his books 'Independent Animation: Developing, Producing and Distributing Your Animated Films' (2016, second edition published April 2023) and 'Intimate Animation' (2025, co-written with Dr. Laura-Beth Cowley). As an educator he has lectured and tutored at AUB Bournemouth, University of the West of England, University of Gloucestershire and UAL Central Saint Martins.
