His latest film <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skwigly.co.uk\/tag\/wendell-wild\"><em>Wendell &amp; Wild<\/em><\/a>, released this month as part of the platform\u2019s <strong>Netflix and Chills<\/strong> slate (alongside other animated projects such as new series <i>Daniel Spellbound<\/i>\u00a0and the second season of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.skwigly.co.uk\/hamish-steele-dead-end-paranormal-park\/\"><i>Dead End: Paranormal Park<\/i><\/a>), marks his first collaboration with Academy Award \u00ae-winner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skwigly.co.uk\/tag\/jordan-peele\/\">Jordan Peele<\/a>, who co-wrote the script and stars as the titular Wendell alongside frequent collaborator Keegan-Michael Key as Wild.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"WENDELL &amp; WILD | Official Trailer | Netflix\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tJp5pLsXhgo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>From the delightfully wicked minds of Henry Selick and Jordan Peele, comes <em>Wendell &amp; Wild<\/em>, an animated tale about scheming demon brothers Wendell (Keegan-Michael Key) and Wild (Peele) \u2013 who enlist the aid of 13-year-old Kat Elliot \u2013 a tough teen with a load of guilt \u2013 to summon them to the Land of the Living. But what Kat demands in return leads to a brilliantly bizarre and comedic adventure like no other, an animated fantasy that defies the law of life and death, all told through the handmade artistry of stop motion.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>With music by Academy Award \u00ae-nominee Bruno Coulais, the film also stars Lyric Ross (<em>This Is Us<\/em>) as Kat, Angela Bassett (<em>Black Panther<\/em>) as Sister Helley, James Hong (<em>Kung Fu Panda<\/em>) as Father Bests, Sam Zelaya as Raul, Tamara Smart (<em>A Babysitter\u2019s Guide to Monster Hunting<\/em>) as Siobhan, Ramona Young (<em>Never Have I Ever<\/em>) as Sweetie, Seema Virdi as Sloane, Natalie Martinez (<em>The Twilight Zone<\/em>) and Ving Rhames (<em>Pulp Fiction<\/em>) as Buffalo Belzer. As an educator he has lectured and tutored at AUB Bournemouth, University of the West of England, University of Gloucestershire and UAL Central Saint Martins. As a freelancer he has produced work for WildBrain, CBeebies, Channel 4, Shy Guys, Plymptoons, Animortal, Wonky Films, A Productions, Slurpy Studios and Rumpus to name a few. As an independent director he has produced six multi-award-winning short animated films that have been showcased at over 200 international film and animation festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, BFI London Film Festival, ITFS Stuttgart, Encounters, London International Animation Festival, Pictoplasma, London Short Film Festival and Anima Mundi. Alongside his work in animation production he is an active writer and researcher on the industry through such avenues as the leading UK animation resource Skwigly, for which he is Editor in Chief, and his books 'Independent Animation: Developing, Producing and Distributing Your Animated Films' (2016, second edition published April 2023) and 'Intimate Animation' (2025, co-written with Dr. Laura-Beth Cowley). As an educator he has lectured and tutored at AUB Bournemouth, University of the West of England, University of Gloucestershire and UAL Central Saint Martins.
